The Carinthian Hunters’ Choir was on the verge of disbanding. But chairman Ferdinand Kinzel refused to give up. After traveling 3,400 miles, visiting 31 hunting gatherings, and recruiting seven new singers, he saved a cherished hunting tradition. Shot & Stillness spoke with Kinzel and choir director Horst Moser about Austrian hunting heritage, camaraderie, and the power of music.

Night is no longer a sanctuary for wild boar. Modern technology has rewritten the rules—and with it, the expectations placed on those who use it. In Carinthia, the use of infrared and electronic aiming devices is therefore clearly regulated: anyone intending to hunt wild boar with this equipment must first complete a legally required training course.
